For the brand’s second collection, made entirely from dead stock fabrics in the STHLM MISC studio, founder Julia took inspiration from the hourglass shape. Traditionally talked about in the context of “the perfect woman”, with a tiny waist and big bottom and breasts. “As I was thinking about this RIDICULOUS idea I realized that within the shape of an hourglass you can also find the stereotypical wide shoulder of a male body. This made me wonder if the hourglass is the perfect symbol of the juxtaposition between male and female.
